Crossroads Distribution Full Truckloads recently bought 10 new fuel tankers for the Desert Oil contract which involves daily deliveries totalling some six million litres of fuel monthly to service stations in the Northern Cape.

Desert Oil was recently appointed to be the branded marketer by Chevron for the Northern Cape.

Petrol and diesel products are taken from three loading facilities in Milnerton, Kimberley and Kroonstad. The vehicles are based in Cape Town and Kimberley, where administration and maintenance are also carried out.

The fleet comprises a mixture of semi trailer and rigid/draw bar tanker combinations which are ideally suited to retail sites with limited access. All the tankers are equipped with the latest specification safety equipment and are also fitted with temperature compensated petrol and diesel meters to accommodate retail site deliveries.

The semi trailers are also fitted with lift axles to reduce fuel consumption and maintenance costs when the tanker is empty.
